Fundoshi Rehash 22 - Lounging in Grey Voile

And today there are extra photos from the shoot originally seen here. This voile fundoshi is so comfortable, a little lounging is always in order!

Above is the sequence of changes made based on the original. I first added a vignette filter to darken the edges of the photo. Next I played with the midtone contrast and turned up the vibrancy and saturation. I then increased the black point to help define the details. It was at this point I decided the color was just too vibrant, so I went back in and turned down the saturation and vibrancy to flatten the look a bit. Below is the result.

Fundoshi Rehash 17 - Burgundy Gauze Part 3

Originally seen here and here, as I have mentioned before, there were loads of extra photos from this shoot. For todayʻs rehash, I first took the same set of updates I made in this rehash, then started to lighten it up a bit.

After applying the same deep black and white filter used previously, I then adjusted the separate channels controlling the black and white to make it a bit more neutral. I then turned up the contrast a bit, and normalized the saturation (which was turned up in the black and white photos).

I liked where it was going, so I then turned up the exposure a bunch and increased the black point to give a stark look. The final work is below - spot erasing the black and white filter on the fundoshi to show it off!

As Iʻve said before, it takes time, but I like the results.

Fundoshi Rehash 19 - Patterned in Black Gauze Part 2

The surplus photos used in today's rehash are the extra shots from the shoot originally seen here,  here and here. For the last showing of these pictures, I removed almost all the color and blew out the exposure. For this round, I wanted to see how much color I could enhance based on the original photos.

I started by turning up the saturation and vibrancy.

I adjusted the overall levels to increase the darkness of the photo, played around with the contrast a bit and added a vignette filter to darken the edges. The final step was to blur the edges, which is becoming one of my favorite tricks!

Fundoshi Rehash 21 - Purple Voile - Old Design Part 1

Originally seen herehere and here, I bet you didnʻt think there would be any surplus photos lurking on my hard drive! Since I am shooting myself, I do tend to take more photos than needed to make a 20-30 picture set, just because I donʻt see the results until I am done. The small view on my camera actually doesnʻt give a good idea of what Iʻm capturing.

For this set, I decided to use a technique Iʻve used in the past with black and white photos, but this time, I kept the color. It basically involves pumping up the contrast and definition so the photo looks a bit ʻharderʻ. You will notice below the transition from the originalʻs soft light and the manipulations involved. I may return to this with other sets, as I like the way they turned out.
