Fundoshi Rehash 30 - Purple Voile Part 1

Here is another purple voile fundoshi that I had extra shots of being given the 'rehash' treatment. For the original blogs from this shoot, you can go herehere and here.

For this set, I worked a bit on changing the tones because I wanted to pump up the purples and pinks for the final look.

I started by actually adding a color filter in purple, and pumping it up by a small amount.

Next, I increased the exposure a bit and made the blacks just a little darker. The saturation and vibrancy was also increased a bit.

The 'edge sharpen' filter was then used to bring out more definition and for the final look, I played with the levels, giving the entire photo a darker overall feel. Enjoy!

Fundoshi Rehash 29 - Light Blue Gauze

For this rehash, I chose some extra photos of one of the most recently designed fundoshi, the light blue gauze found here and here. I kept the originals a bit on the dark side for mood, so for this rehash, I thought I would just try to lighten them up a bit.

I first adjusted the curves to bring out of of the hidden highlight areas.

I then increased the overall contrast and saturation a bit to bring more variety to the color palette. Then I increased the exposure.

For the final look above, I then changed the temperature of the white balance to a more bluish tone. This got the colors a little more natural looking.

Fundoshi Rehash 28 - Windy Black Voile Part 1

For today's fundoshi rehash, I took the surplus photos from the shoot that can be found here and here

These might be the most subtle set of changes I've made to get to where the final image is. The first, as always, is the original. I first noticed that the images were a bit 'soft', so I sharpened them a bit. I then turned up the brightness and increased the saturation a little.

Once that was done, I played with the levels a bit, then blurred the edges of the photo. Finally, I decided to decrease the saturation using a different filter that results in the final version below.

Fundoshi Rehash 27 - Black Spooky Fabric

The spooky fabric fundoshi is back, this time in black. There were enough extra photos for me to see if there was anything I could do to make the photos look a bit different. You can see the original black spooky fabric photos here and here

As you can see here, the shoot was quite dark, so my first step was to lighten it up a bit by increasing the exposure. This helped, but the images were a bit soft for my liking.

I then turned up the definition and saturation a bit, and that helped. The final adjustment was to sharpen the edges, and this got the photos right where I wanted them.

Fundoshi Rehash 26 - Blue Circle Design Part 1

Originally seen in this post, I’m so Blue.....and so is my Fundoshi....., there were many surplus photos from this shoot since the lighting and camera settings werenʻt what they should have been. As I stated then, I try to learn from my mistakes.

Having learned many tricks in this past year doing these rehash blogs, I thought I would take some less than optimum photos and see what I could do.

While the original on the left looks okay, this was one of the better shots from the session. Of the 50 or so surplus photos I chose for this rehash, only about 25 were worth working on. I started by blurring the edges and fading the entire photo to give it a slightly more romantic feel. To achieve the final look below, I desaturated the photo a bit more, but turned up the vibrancy a little to retain some of the light.

Fundoshi Rehash 25 - Sarashi Fundoshi - Part 1

This fundoshi is made from traditional sarashi fabric from Japan. The original photos can be seen herehere and here. You can also see it in this kimono photo set.

For this rehash, I simply wanted to find a nice black and white take on the photos. I first played a bit with the white balance to get a different tone out of the shot. I changed it to black and white and set up some initial corrections with contrast and black point. The final look just below was done by decreasing the exposure a bit to get that dramatic flair.
